Team working 50 hours per week all quit at the same time: 'If there's anything we can do to keep you, let me know'

This boss is in for a rough few weeks while he replaces multiple employees who are all leaving at the exact same time!

An underrated question to ask during job interviews is, "Why is there a vacancy for this role?" This is not always the kind of question that bosses want to answer honestly. Sometimes the answer is that the person left because they weren't being paid well enough, or because they were totally miserable at the job and had to seek something else ASAP. Although your interviewer might fudge the answer to this question, they might be honest and reveal why the last person left their position.

In this case, multiple employees are leaving at the same time, which doesn't bode well for anyone remaining at the company. Everyone staying behind is going to have to pick up the slack, while training new people, and while dealing with a flustered boss.

It's quite satisfying that these workers all found new positions at the same time… but it also speaks volumes about the workplace. It means that they all started job hunting around the same time, and are all eager to leave. I hope all of these employees have bright futures ahead of them. It was kind of the boss to try to retain the employees, but I can't help but think it was too little, too late.
